Several Wedding Questions…?

1. We are having 4 groomsmen (including best man) For a gift we want to get them some sort of engraved beer mug because all of them are beer drinkers except my fiance’s brother is only 17. Do you think we can get the 3 groomsmen the mugs and his brother something else or would he feel left out? Please make a suggestion for a universal gift if you don’t think the beer mug is appropriate.

2. We are having our wedding ceremony at the Catholic church we attend, it starts at 2:00 PM and the priest said will last about an hour. I want to have some pictures before the ceremony (all the ones we can without me and my fh seeing each other) So like family pics and such. Our reception doesn’t start until 6:00 PM and the soonest the guests can arrive is at 5:30 because we are having it on a chartered wedding yacht. What are the guest supposed to do between 3:00 or so to 5:00 or so. It takes 30 minutes to drive from the church to the yacht location. The marina/yacht doesn’t have a bar or waiting area?? And most of the guests are from out of town/state so they just can’t chillax at any old place.

3. How long before your wedding did you get your wedding bands?/ How much did you spend on your bands (his & hers) My ring was ,000.00 and the band I like is only 0.00—does that seem right?

Thanks!

We’re not going the tux route and the groomsmen are wearing their own suits. We aren’t particular and don’t care that their suits may be slightly different (though we checked with them about the colors and that should be fine). But to tie together the look, in addition to maybe boutonnieres, we thought we’d give the groomsmen matching ties. The ties would be fairly nice, a minimum of , and in a color we’d imagine they could wear again (no sparkly pink ones with our wedding date on them, lol).

We do not want the groomsmen to have to pay for these ties. That is just our belief; we are are also paying for the BM dresses.

But I was wondering, is it in any way appropriate to make these ties their gift, as well? Since we will be shelling out at least per guy for a tie, buying a gift on top of that seems difficult. Plus, I know lots of people give ties for groomsmen gifts in the first place.

On the other hand, it seems pretty wrong to say someone’s gift is the article of clothing you picked out that they have to wear in the wedding!

Also, while I’m paying for the BM dresses (well, actually I’m paying for skirts and the BMs have tops of their own to wear with skirts I pick out) I plan on buying them gifts, too. The skirts are actually only about -30 each, so significantly less than the ties. But it feels like a double standard. I guess it comes down to ties feeling like a normal groomsmen gift in the first place. Any thoughts?

I need one in few days, I am the best man in a wedding and need am responsible for getting this gift.
I am looking to pick on up instore. I really need one as the best man in this wedding!!

So here is what is going on in a nutshell: Basically my fiance is being really difficult in terms of plans for our reception and she is driving me nuts. Firstly, she does not like being put on the spot and embarrassed so she doesn’t want anyone making speeches at the reception. Not her father, not my father and she only wants my best man and her maid of honor to say congratulations then sit down. Second, she wants to request that my parents wedding gift to us be 2 brand new Mac Books. Im sorry but REQUEST? That’s the first I ever heard of that. She wants to see her wedding band before the wedding just in case she "doesn’t like it" and now she wants me to come move up by where she lives before the wedding. She is in Sacramento and I am in Los Angeles (6 hours away) with our wedding being this September 18th down by where I live. Does that make any sense or am I just crazy? I would love other peoples opinions on this. Thanks to all who answer!! By the way, she is 24 and I am 26.

I’ve actually never seen/heard a Bride and Groom speech in all the weddings I’ve been to, but honestly, regardless if I have or haven’t, this was one fantastic speech. Funny, sincere and overall just a lot of care & love in this speech. You got to watch/hear it!

www.djlovelace.com First song is Bryan Adams – Heaven Ivan and Jessica Krimker’s First Dance: This is how they kicked off the reception. No one really knew what Ivan and Jessica were about to do after a couple of minutes into the … And so on…. It was something original and very fun, the guests loved it! This was atat Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach, California. Meadowlark Golf Club is one of Orange County’s Oldest golf courses. Meadowlark does a great job with weddings and other special events.

Any chocolate themed groomsmen gifts?

We have a chocolate themed wedding so we’re trying to stick with that, but we’re probably going to end up with something different. We were going to give them chocolate mint baileys (liquor) until we remembered that one of the groomsmen doesn’t drink. Any other chocolate ideas that men would like?

Thanks

wedding card…?

I know i should write it from my heart, but i’m not good at these type of things, whats a short sweet message i could write inside of a wedding card. its from me and my boyfriend. its to my boyfriends best friend (my boyfriend is the best man).

also, the gift is in a bag, there is a little tag on the handle of the bag, is it okay to write on the tag "Congrats (name of couple)! Love, (me and my boyfriend).

I’m getting married on the 18th, but I really can’t figure out why so many brides say they are so busy/rushed the last few days before their wedding. All I have left to do is assemble some bows to pin to the chairs for the aisle, make the placecards, , wrap the gifts for the best man and MOH, and assemble 2 bouquets, 2 bouts, and 4 centerpieces. We’re having our rehearsal the Friday before the wedding. I have that day off work, plus all day Saturday for my mom and me to assemble the flowers. The bows and placecards I can do after work in a few days, so I’m not worried about that. Oh, and we’ll be moving our furniture into our new house this weekend. I don’t know, that just doesn’t seem like a lot. Am I just weird, or did I just plan ahead? Or am I forgetting something? What do other brides typically go through in the last few days before their wedding?
